With only two singers and small black box theater, there was plenty of conversation surrounding soft goods and levels. 

Working with the other designers, the sound design aided in keeping the audience immersed in the story even during moments of pause.

Design Analysis for SFX and developing a Soundscape

~ Remarks~

This was the first time that I had worked on a two-person musical before. A great deal of the challenges stemmed from finding the balance between only two vocalists and a 3-piece band in such a small venue without vocal reinforcement. The balance was found largely thanks to a collaboration with the music director and scenic through the support of soft goods. The soundscape itself had to find a balance between immersing the audience and helping set the location of the show, as the physical set itself moreso aided with the memory play concept.
