Dontrell, Who Kissed the Sea

~Production Pictures~

~Process Pictures & Paperwork~

Myself in the scaffolding unit, cabling the sound system. Due to the pipe goalposts that were hung for lighting, use of the scaffolding was very limited for this show.

Video Camera Testing. Sent camera shot to the Stage Management team to confirm location.

Sound Designer spec'ed 2x Bullfrog Exciters for this show. Acquired small Pyle Amplifiers, and these specials were stored underneath the riser banks to bring sound closer to the audience

Plot I drafted for Mackenzie (Sound Designer). She typically provides me with a rough idea of where she wants things, and I'll scale the drafting and put in icons that better represent each of the speakers. With this production, the two biggest hurdles were the use of the Bullfrog exciters underneath the risers and rigging cross pipes in order to get the desired hang position for the mains.

~ Remarks~

Dontrell, Who Kissed the Sea was a wonderful process to be a part of. With Mackenzie Adamick as the Sound Designer - I was delighted to work with them again as their Production Audio Engineer. Mackenzie consulted me when talking about trying to place her mains in the densely settled lighting plot. After much deliberation - it was decided that we could cheeseborough a pipe across the grid pipes in order to hang these main speakers between lights. The second major design question that was brought up was regarding the Bullfrog Specials underneath the risers in order to bring the imaging closer to the ground. These exciters were bought and then rigged with their own 60W personal amplifier that also lived underneath the platform. Due to the excited needing to land on something, Mackenzie tried out many different materials and eventually landed on plastic tubs as the speakers of choice.
