About Me

Combining her experience working with live theatre, music, and live-streamed content, Irene Wang is a passionate sound designer and audio engineer based in-and-around Boston, Massachusetts.

For the past seven years, Irene has been a Sound Designer and Audio Engineer in the Greater Boston Area, working to support an array of different theatres and venues. Most recently, Irene was the A1 for Berkshire Theatre Group's 2023 Summer Season. She has also the Sound Supervisor for The Prom performed at SpeakEasy Stage Co. and is a part time Audio Engineer at Blue Man Group Boston. She has also has the delightful opportunity to Sound Design a variety of shows at Boston University including i love you and i always will, or Charlie's Play (directed by Tommy Vines), and HALF (New Work by Valyn Lyric Turner and directed by Jayna Shoda Meyer). Recently, she was also the Systems Designer and Engineer for the 2023 Fusion Dance Competition in the George Sherman Union Metcalf Ballroom.


For the next year, Irene will be working towards a BFA in Sound Design at Boston University's School of Theatre. 


Outside of theatre, Irene holds a passion for working in educational settings. Recently, she worked at Ridge Ave Upper School in Cambridge, MA as the Technical Director and Sound Supervisor for their production of Willy Wonka Jr. Prior to that, she was an intricate part of Wilmington Public Schools and running their auditoriums, as well as the lead Sound Designer and Engineer for Broken Leg Productions in Melrose, MA for their 2019-2021 Seasons .
