Cars, Candy, and Other Colorful Things
(A New Work Workshop)
~Production Photos~
~Process Pictures & Paperwork~
First day of the Tech Process during Tech Week. Loaded the QLab file with a lot of pre-generated content and then started the process of teching through and making adjustments.
Dress Run.
Moved equipment to the control booth and into show position.
Sound Cue Sheet in-progress during tech. I make updates to the paperwork with changes that I pass along to Stage Management to ensure clear communication between both parties!
I also use it as a note-taking device during tech. To communicate changes in cue placement that need to made to execute the design.
Part of my approach to the design process. It includes asking a lot of questions and pondering different aural options as I start to envision what the soundscape sounds like. This soundscape winds up further molded by my conversations with the creative team and primarily Tommy.
~ Remarks~
i love you and i always will, or charlie's play is first and foremost a memorial. It's a memorial for Tommy's close close friend Charlie. Talking with Tommy about their vision for the production came first and foremost in the process. It wound up being a lot of conversation surrounding what they heard when they wrote the play seeing as so much of the script had a sound design baked into the words and phrases.
